Tree stripes: batten method in the interior
In interior design projects wood is used in various forms: from the intact trunks and stumps to products resulting the complex technological processes. Thereby places became to be decorated with wood paneling, beams, and eventually, massive elements replaced by the more laconic and simplified battens.
Batten decoration allows you to create dynamics, focus the attention on interior details and give the room a certain shape, and a strip visually expands or extends the space, depending on the orientation. Exactly for simplicity, environmental friendliness and multifunctionality designers from around the world fell in love with this method, and began to make extensive use of it in their work.
In the Mistral wine shop project in Sao Paulo, Brazil, batten has a dominant position. Architect Arthur Casas successfully connected the interior elegance with refinement and authenticity of a noble beverage. At the entrance the floating bottles and long corridors catch the eye and invite to stop by the shop.

Batten method is functional enough. With batten constructions angularity of the space can be given a round, feminine form. Checkland Kindleysides Design Bureau used this ruse, developing the interior designing solution for brand clothes store Jigsaw.
The concept of space was creating under the guidance of the brand slogan - to sell stylish clothes in an inspiring setting. As the result was a brilliant realization, confident and eye-catching design. It seems like being in an old studio, where tailors created their best images.
According to maximum Ukrainian designers Alexander and Vladimir Yudin of Kozyrniy Design studio also decided to use battens in the interior. They found the use of wooden battens in small cafe COFFEE & cafe & bakery project.
Voluminous shapes on the batten wall reminiscent of buns, which underlines the specificity of a place, and at the same time hide fixtures. Such lamps create warm, atmospheric lighting in the interior.
Structural integrity of the battens on the ceiling and the wall, combining, creates a separate space. Such method allows to zone the place and visually highlight it. In a new Sergei Makhno studio project in apartment with undivided kitchen and living room, exactly a batten installation marked the border between two rooms. Lamps embedded in a chaotic pattern continued the strip theme.
